First Impressions: AfroRiri Haircare

Hey y’all!

AfroRiri Haircare is a new haircare brand “on a mission to develop the highest quality in hair care from nature.” Last week, I received three products from their line, for review purposes; the Honey Moisturizing Shampoo, the Luxe Detangling Conditioner and the Luxe Hair Butter.

AfroRiri products are made in Nigeria by House of Radiance, right here in Calabar! Knowing this makes me super excited to see how my hair likes them. 🙂

Okay, on to my first impressions.

These products look good. Simple functional bottles for the shampoo and conditioner, a tub for the butter, and labels that won’t peel off when wet.

Ingredients

The ingredient lists read okay. No sulfates, no parabens, no mineral oil. I love me my silicones, but it’s also worth noting that this line is silicone free.

Consistency:

The Honey Moisturizing Shampoo and the Luxe Detangling Conditioner are both very very light. I have never used a conditioner this light, so this should be interesting!

The hair butter is creamy in the same way Blue Band margarine is.

Sniff Test

I think the scents of the Conditioner and the Hair Butter are a little too strong but I used the Conditioner as a leave-in a few days ago and someone was like “oh, what’s that? I like how that smells.” Hm. We’ll see.

As you know, I’m currently wearing a sew-in weave, and so far, I’ve used the Luxe Conditioner as a leave-in to finger detangle. I will test these babies on my leave-out and the weave a few more times- but I’m really saving them for extensive use on my hair after I take down this weave in three, four weeks. I don’t like to review a product until I’m at least halfway gone. When I get a real feel of these products, I’ll let you guys know how far.

It’s a new week, it’s a new month! I’m super excited! September will be awesome, for you! And you, yes you!! 🙂

Love,

AB,

xx.
