Spotlight: Mane Choice Manetabolism Hair Vitamins

Hey beauts!

Are we all in the holiday spirit yet? If you’re reading this then I know you have entered into our big fat giveaway here.

So a while ago, AB talked about hair vitamins and her experience with African Hair Accel.

With so much excitement and gratefulness, I received a month’s supply of the Mane Choice Manetabolism Healthy Hair Vitamin.

What is it and what does it do?

Manetabolism is a dietary supplement that “aids in promoting healthy hair, nails and skin by supplying nourishment to the body’s cells and by directly targeting hair follicles, nail beds and skin layers. In addition, it also boosts energy levels and helps to strengthen the immune system.” The major selling and advertisement point for this product is its effects on the hair as evidenced by its name and its USP (which reads ‘Longer. Thicker. Healther’). I have seen lots and lots and LOTS of pictures heralding the good name of manetabolism that I am so tempted to ignore any doubt that this product will cause a drastic change to my hair. I shall try my best to remain grounded.

What’s in it?

Vitamin A (as Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid), Vitamin D3 (as Cholecalciferol), Vitamin E (as d-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate), Vitamin K, Niacin, Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCl), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 (as Cyanocobalamin), Biotin, Zinc (as Zinc Sulfate), Proprietary Blend*.

*The proprietary blend comprises: MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), Shark Cartilage, FucoMax Fucoidan, Horsetail  (Equisetum arvense) (Whole Herb), Inositol, Grape seed (Vitis vinifera), Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) (Leaf), L-Lysine, L-Alanine, L-Arginine HCl, L-Aspartic Acid, L-Cysteine, L-Glutamic acid, L-Glycine, L-Histidine HCl, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Methionine, L-Phenylalanine, L-Proline, L-Serine, Taurine, L-Threonine, L-Tyrosine, L-Valine.

Other Ingredients: Cellulose and Magnesium Stearate.

Pretty impressive, eh?

Impressions

I have been taking these for a couple of weeks now. The packaging and branding is quite exquisite; understated, yet calling. I have a bias against pills and capsules, and I find these ones particularly large :(. However, this hasn’t stopped me from swallowing them.

I have yet to notice any side effects or changes in my body. I shaved off body hair recently and it doesn’t seem to be growing at an alarmingly fast rate.

Cost wise, these babies retail between $24.99 and $ 239.88 depending on how many bottles you buy in one transaction. You can find them on amazon and the mane choice website.

I currently have my hair in braids and I am trying to do heat damage control so I don’t know how these will affect progress with this product. I will see you with good news (yes, I’m being positive) in a couple of weeks.

Have you tried these vitamins or any other hair vitamins that you are impressed with? What do you think about hair vitamins in general? I’ll love to read from you.

Have a brilliant weekend!

  1. I’ve read so many great reviews about these vitamins but I’m still a bit on the fence, closer to NO, lol. I’m a huge sceptic when it comes to ingesting any type of medicine or vitamin (I google every single prescription or bother my poor doctor sis). This however I’m willing to give a try since its ‘mane-related’, and it really does seem pretty harmless, so I’ll wait & see how things go with u and THEN maybe take the plunge! 😀

  2. I have never used a hair vitamin and I don’t even plan on using one.No thank you,I had better eat fruits. It’s not much of a big deal,I just don’t like medicine…later on they will find out that it causes cancer or other ailments like they always do.

I’ve actually tried this vitamin. Bought a bottle from Olori. Well, I actually grew an extra half inch as opposed to my approx 0.5 equalling one inch for that month but I got the same results with perfectil hair skin and nails (ie a regular supplements sold in pharmacies for like one-fifth the price if Manetabolism. So no, I won’t be buying again.
