Tell me about it. I have been left y’all. Or “jilted” as Nigerian newspapers like to say.
By the ones I thought had my back. The ones I thought were my ride-or-die. It’s a cold world, no snuggie. *sniff*
My staple products that you know and I love, are tired of me. One by one they have been misbehaving and the disrespect is enough, it’s time for me to move on.
As I write this, I have flakes on my shoulder because I used Hello Hydration to moisturise my puff in the morning.
Hello Hydration my moisture buddy. I would use it as a rinse-out, sometimes DC and on lazy days as a leave-in conditioner.
Nothing But? After almost two years together, my beloved deep conditioner has moved on too. It’s good, but not great anymore.
Cantu Leave-in? HA.HA.HA.
My styler, the Shea Moisture Frizz-Free Curl Mousse remains faithful, but clearly, it too can misbehave any time.
It’s not the weather- these conditioners were good to me in all conditions. I was thinking maybe the problem is my hair but I’ve tried a few new products this year that were really really dope.
SO. I think we have come to the end of the road for now. This won’t be the first time a hair product would switch up on me, it happens. I’m just being dramatic.
I look forward to trying new products, discovering new faves.

Cantu shea butter messed me up bad! my hair hated it after a while, must have been the protein in it. Your product stash resembles mine, Oh the promises we fall for. I used to swear by olive oil but it switched on me like a disloyal crew member. Oh yes and the Elasta QP range, that was my jam until I stepped up my hair product price range and it just wasn’t cutting it anymore.

It’s a testimony, she stepped up! LOL I’ve been eyeing the Elasta products, because so far I haven’t heard anything bad about them. Which pricier brands have you upgraded to? Share please 😉 Carol’s Daughter is nice but idk if I’m ready for that next level.

I upgraded to Lush products ! They are life, especially the R ‘n’ B moisturiser ( I know the name isn’t racially steered at all is it?, LOL). But they are expensive so I use sparingly. I find carol’s daughter far too pricey, I live in the UK so it’s even more money here. I also have dabbled with Creme of nature products which isn’t too bad for poor months.

Sorry about the flakes. Maybe it’s coming from a combination with another product in your hair. I had a similar issue with my Cantu Creamy Hair lotion. After a while, it just wasn’t moisturizing my hair as well. I stopped using it for almost a year and recently started using it. It’s working well now and I hope it lasts. I look forward to seeing the products you try out.

I considered that, but my hair was dry & practically stripped of all oils and moisture. I hope your relationship with the lotion lasts too. Thank you 🙂

LOL! Awww sorry luv, this happens to me alll the time! The most painful one was my Keracare Humecto, people are always icky about Keracare but for me it was amazeballs… until it wasn’t! It took almost 3 years before it ditched me but I love it so much that I’m like an obsessed ex that just won’t let go lol, so once in a while I still stop by to say hi 🙂
But i’ve experienced the opposite as well where a product is not great the 1st few tries but later decides to be your bestie 😀 Eden bodyworks Jojoba monoi dc was like that for me, I had decided that it was a total waste of my money & then one fine day it just changed for the better! So yayy to that 😀

Sorry for ‘product betrayal’. The beauty of the African Natural hair is that it JUST EVOLVES at WILL. On the flip side, this new ‘jilting’ provides you an opportunity to explore further. Isn’t that interesting? 🙂
I recently embarked on an ayurvedic journey last month. My mixture ( ahem! Concoction) is exquisite! And it always leaves my hair shiny, silky, soft….(my list is endless). Why don’t you give ayurveda concoction a chance *wink*
Btw, on your post about ‘acne’ we should have a tête–à–tête soonest.

Im alll the way over in South Africa and i am so amazed by all the different products available to you. I think our hair care experts over here cater for a certain market, ONLY. and that is NOT the au natural one lol. 🙂 i have yet to discover products which can do all the things yours can. i currently am limited to olive oils, coconut oils and conditioners #sad4ever
