Hello there!

Now that you are here, welcome. Here’s a little bit about who we are and what we do.

AB & MeeMee are two Nigerian girls living in their favorite cities in the world – Lagos & New York City. We are currently on that 8-6 professional grind and are happy doing it! Ultimately, we are on this continuous journey called life to figure out ourselves, our purpose, and yes, our hair!

AB & MeeMee have been best friends since 2006 and have been blogging since 2012.

WHY DO WE BLOG?

We are passionate about, and dedicated to educating people about healthy hair. Healthy, natural hair. This is our major platform of choice as we are both writers at heart. There is a lot of inspiration and encouragement that we want to share with you by our humorous personal experiences and information garnered from careful research and studying.

Here at The Kink and I, we believe that good hair is healthy hair. However, we prefer to wear ours kinky. MeeMee loves her hair like she loves ogbono soup, and AB rates her hair and fried yam the same way! It’s a journey, really, hair and life alike. Like you, we have our ups and downs. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s frustrating, and a range of other emotions in between, but stick with us as we share our ups, downs, and everything in between.
